Important Updates for Prospective Direct Entry Candidates: JAMB 2024 Registration Guidelines

With registration now underway, it’s crucial for candidates to understand the requirements and procedures to ensure a smooth application process.

Prospective candidates seeking admission into 200 level in Nigerian Universities are hereby notified that the JAMB Direct Entry 2024 e-PIN vending and registration commenced on February 28th, 2024, and will conclude on March 28th, 2024. The registration fee is Six Thousand Seven Hundred Naira (N6,700). It’s essential to note that registration is exclusively available at the State and Zonal JAMB offices nationwide.

DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

1. A minimum of five (5) O’level credit passes at not more than two sittings.

2. At least two prescribed subjects for each programme (proposed course of study) must be at the Principal or Advanced level.

3. Other acceptable qualifications in lieu of A’LEVELs include:
   – University Degree
   – University Diploma/NFLD
   – ND/NID
   – HND
   – NCE
   – IJMB
   – JUPEB
   – NABTEB-ANBC
   – NABTEB-ANTC
   – NABTEB-GCE-A’LEVEL (2015-2021)
   – Cambridge A’level
   – International Baccalaureate (foreign certificates only)
   – National Registered Nurse/National Registered Midwife (NRN/NRM).

4. Awarding institutions are required by JAMB to directly verify their presented awards before admission could be made.
During registration, DE candidates must provide:

a) Registration/Matriculation Number of the previous school attended where the qualification was obtained

b) Subject(s) of qualification

c) Awarding Institution

d) Institution actually attended

OTHER IMPORTANT DE REGISTRATION AND ADMISSION RULES:



a) DE candidates not awaiting results must upload their A’level qualification, O’level results, and DE Registration Template during registration.

b) DE candidates will not be considered for admission until their claimed results are uploaded and verified by the awarding institutions on the JAMB platform (CAPS MAIL).

c) DE candidates awaiting A’level results of UMS/UPER/NABТЕВ must upload their Admission Letter and Registration Template during registration.

d) Applicants with Cambridge certificates of pre-2018 examination year should directly visit Cambridge for verification. The verification process may take up to 28 days (as specified by the awarding body), after which the result will be forwarded to the Board and reflected in the DE candidate’s e-Facility profile.

e) Statement of results (instead of certificates) is accepted for registration only within 3 years of the award date.

f) Upgrade from UTME to DE is only available to candidates whose DE results have not been released at the point of UTME registration, provided they indicated awaiting A’level results during registration and supplied the necessary particulars in the uploaded registration template.

Candidates are advised to regularly check their A’level admission status in their e-facility profile, where verification by NIPEDS will be indicated as “CLEARED” or “NOT CLEARED” along with reasons for non-clearance, such as discrepancies in name, grade, or subject, explicitly stated.

Note: Candidates are strictly prohibited from registering more than once. In case of any errors during the registration process, candidates should seek correction from the Board instead of obtaining a fresh application, as dupli nocate applications invalidate all submissions.
